About Our Client:

Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Drill and Blast Engineers to join their mine technical services teams in the Pilbara. These key roles are responsible for drill and blast design and planning activities for the mining operations in order to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the mine plan.

You will be involved in creating effective drill patterns, electronic initiation and charging designs and explore new ways to increase drill and blast productivity. You will utilise your engagement skills to effectively liaise with operational supervisors to get your designs implemented in the field.

Skills and Experience:

• WA C Class Manual Drivers Licence

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering

• Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)

• Open pit mining experience with good knowledge of heritage controls.

• Drill & Blast design and planning experience.

• Experience with Vulcan and Blast Plan and advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong commitment to Safety
