We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join our team as a Shutdown Specialist, focusing on conveyors and fixed plant equipment maintenance during scheduled shutdowns.
Responsibilities:
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on conveyor systems and fixed plant equipment during scheduled shutdowns, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
Conduct pre-shutdown checks, identify potential issues, and collaborate with the maintenance team to plan necessary actions.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble conveyor components, ensuring their proper functioning and optimal performance.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, using appropriate tools and techniques to efficiently address and resolve problems.
Collaborate with other maintenance professionals and contractors to coordinate activities and achieve shutdown objectives within the scheduled timeframe.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including parts used, work performed, and any additional recommendations for future improvements.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, with a focus on maintaining conveyors and fixed plant equipment.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues related to conveyors and fixed plant machinery.
Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with other team members and stakeholders.
Flexibility to work during scheduled shutdowns, including weekends or nights, to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance activities.
Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus.
