The Opportunity

Our client is located in Melbourne's Northern suburbs that has been operating for over 50 years, specialising in steel pipe manufacturing. The successful candidate will be required to weld pipe using a MIG and flux core welding and submerged-arc welding and repair work to x-ray testing standards

Duties & responsibilities

• Final welds to connect pipe

• MIG and Fluxcore welding for penetrating steel pipe to repair defects and welding pipe jig

• Submerged arc welding, pipe welding, grinding

• Repairing pipe

• Welding steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater

• Perform submerge arc welding on pipe from 6mm to 12mm thickness with minimum 250mm to 1750mm outside diameter

• Metal fabrication

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience fluxcore welding

• Submerged arc welding experience

• Must have full working rights to work in Australia

• Two work references for previous welding roles

• Will have to undertake a weld test and pre-employment medical

• Able to read and interpret structural plans

• Trade qualified Boilermaker OR Welding qualification

Successful candidates will have to pass a weld test, drug and alcohol and full pre-employment medical
