About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Environment and Community Officer for a 6 month contract, for a well known Resources Company. Opportunity for contract extensions or role direct with client.

Desired Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 4 years experience in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering

  • Bachelor of Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering or equivalent

  • Strong oral and written communication; and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively independently or as a team member

  • Highly motivated with ability to use initiative

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of tasks and business information

Key Deliverables

  • Ensure effective Contractor Management for all works under EC Control, including compliance to Work Authorisations, Permits and Risk Management.

  • Conduct a minimum of four Behavioural Observations each month.

  • In accordance with Environmental Risk Mitigation Project, identify spill mitigation initiatives that target compliance risk

  • Improve understanding of water inputs and outputs to inform improved water management.

  • Improve waste segregation.

  • Improve understanding of moisture levels across various coal products.

  • Increase environmental visibility and leadership.

  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and local social license to operate

  • Regular communication of community involvement.

  • Water Management and improvement of water quality of port affected water.
