About the Role

Our Client Rio Tinto are currently seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters with experience working in the Rail industry on Locomotives for a FIFO role Perth to Karratha.

You will be called upon for a variety of fitting and mechanical maintenance tasks, from overhauls and major engine servicing, bogie overhauls and fitment, to minor level servicing and provisioning.

Perform emergency repairs to locomotives.

Replaces locomotive and diesel engine components including but not limited to wheels or trucks, traction motors, springs, couplers, draft gear assembly, gear cases, cylinder heads, air compressors, and turbo chargers

Perform daily service of locomotive units: fuels, waters, lubrication and oils.

Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner.

Tickets and Licences

• Relevant Trade Certificate

• Crane Operator Licence

• Current C Class Drivers Licence

• Committed to following the company's values

• Flexible and able to work well in a team

• Ability to follow instruction through to task completion

• Committed with 100% safety focus

• Experience in Rail Industry, locomotives specifically would be advantageous

Desirable but not essential

• Forklift Ticket

• HR license

• First Aid

• Rio Tinto Inducted
