HME Project Advisor

About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Mobile Equipment Project Advisor to join our client, Rio Tinto for an ongoing bases. This role will be fly in, fly out on an 8:6 day shift roster across the Pilbara region. The successful candidate will provide site contractor management, heavy mobile equipment expertise, and implementation skills to deliver projects and tasks safely in a sustainable, timely and cost effective way inline with Rio Tinto Iron Ore business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish safety expectations for the Project with all Contractors at beginning of project and with any new starters that join throughout the project.

  • Ensure that all site HME Project activities comply with and are delivered to Rio Tinto standards and policies for HSE.

  • Coach on safe behaviours through daily field leadership

  • Establish effective relationship with Contractor supervisors and teams, built around trust and empathy

  • Coaching and mentoring contracting partners in all aspects of HSE inclusive of PSI meetings, Leadership in the Field,

  • Review of all levels of risk assessment (L2RA, SWP, Take 5 etc)

  • Carry out CCFV, CRM Coaching and Quality Safety Interactions

  • Lead Level 1 incident investigation ensuring actions are completed and closed out

  • Assist contractors/HSE team in facilitating L2RA for projects

  • Review and issue all required Permits dependant on Site requirements (e.g. General Permits, W@H, Confined Spaces)

  • Review risk assessments daily (i.e. SWPs, JHAs) and check for effective application at the work-fronts

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated Heavy Mobile Equipment experience within a mining environment

  • Rights to Work in Australia

  • Hold WA Manual 'C' Class Drivers Licence

  • Previous experience in reviewing risk assessment documentation

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Work, Health and Safety
