About the Role

WorkPac are currently looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator for an initial 6 month contract for one of our leading mining clients. The Health and Safety Coordinator is a key member of the Health, Safety and Training Department. This position is accountable for the provision of advice to all departments of the mine relating to Health, Safety and Incident Management.

Accountabilities of the Role

• Maintaining filing systems (soft copy and hard) within the HST department. (Incident and Hazards)

• Maintain the workflow of relevant documentation from the HST Department to Document Control.

• To ensure that the owners of Safety Actions (SISPAV) understand those actions and are reminded of the time frames for compliance to those actions.

• To comply with all reasonable tasks requests and deadlines as set by the HS and C Superintendent.

• Participate and assist all operational departments with Health and Safety related matters (RAs and ICAMS)

• Update and manage personnel Coal Board Medicals and Chest X-rays. Organise payment and provide relevant information to tracking sheet / onsite purchasing system.

• Hazard/ Incident data entry management and tracking sheet

• Coordinate and maintain Health and Hygiene sampling and reporting

• Coordinate injury management and maintain process

• Workcover

• Non-work related injuries

• Allied Health

• Update external physiotherapy appointment lists. Ensure adequate supply of physio stock. Order stock if running low.

• Document subjective, objective, provisional diagnosis and plan of patients seen. Save to secure location.

• Participate in the Document Control process and update Sharepoint as required

• Maintain Health and Safety reporting requirements

• Conduct Drug and Alcohol testing

• Perform x8 JSOs monthly

Previous Experience and Qualifications

Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role

• Medical Certificate Coal Board (QLD)

• Mining Statement of Attainment Generic Induction Surface Standard 11

• Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety

• ICAM BSBWHS505 & RIIWHS301D
