About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client Rio Tinto located in their Central Park office with ADHOC site travel. This role will be working a Monday to Friday roster for an ongoing basis.
Skills and Experience
Strong proven commitment to Safety in design and on site
Minimum 2 years? experience in a fabrication environment managing estimates, project management, quality and delivery.
Experience with functional safety of machines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Rio?s engineering service provider (ESP) and ensure the overall E-Controls design is in line with Rio?s specifications.
Resolve all technical queries and ensure the ESP submits deliverables as per agreed project schedule.
Timely coordination of Rio?s approval on technical deliverables (drawings and documents).
Develop tender packs by closely working with ESP and Rio?s contracting team.
During tender process, assist with resolving clarifications between bidders and Rio/ESP.
Post subcontracts award, ensure sub-contractors deliver both deliverables and supply on time. Resolve any issues during supply phase.
Manage QA/QC as a part of sub-contractor?s supply including documentation such as QAP?s, ITP?s and MDR?s.
Engage with site stakeholders and develop installation, commissioning, and hand over plan. Manage siteworks leading to successful practical completion and handover.
