About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our client based in Cairns on a Monday to Friday roster. This position will oversee the planning and delivery of building maintenance and upgrade works for AC Systems where you will undertake on-site Condition assessment of existing split systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage the centralised breakdowns mailbox

• Communication with schools to get an understanding of the AC breakdown/operational issues

• Police the AC Breakdown to enforce the business rules and escalate issues to Regional Infrastructure Advisors as needed for resolution

• Assign the correct priority to the breakdown for MRCs to create WR & WO

• Provide technical advice to Contractors in terms of repair decisions

• Review Condition Reports provided by contractors recommending AC replacement to validate the recommendations are correct

• Provide reporting on breakdown status

Skills and Experience

• Mechanical Trade qualification (mandatory)

• Knowledge of split system AC installation, repairs, and maintenance (mandatory)

• Intermediate level of MS Excel skills including being able to create spreadsheets to monitor AC breakdown status, and use existing spreadsheets to enter and review data

• Experience assessing condition of split system Air Conditioning (desirable)

• Demonstrated ability to communicate well with customers and in-house staff both written and verbal
