About the Role:

Workpac are seeking an experienced State Operations Manager for a permanent opportunity with our marine services client based in Sydney.

Our client is a leading provider in multi-disciplinary industrial services and project management in the marine defence and commercial sectors. They currently service 40 clients across the nation working with defence and commercial vessels. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO to assist with business operations and growth in NSW. This is a full time permanent position based out of our clients St Peters office in Sydney.

Key Duties:

• Responsible for client and project acquisition and retention, service delivery, partnership management and maintaining successful networks across the business in NSW

• Ensure workplace health and safety is compliant with the company and client policies and relevant State legislation

• Provide quality services to clients ensuring compliance with directions and standards

• Ensure effective management of staff including recruitment, resource allocation, training, performance management and engagement to build a positive and strong culture

• Business development through gaining strategic information and developing this into plans and actions for business acquisition

• Developing annual strategic and financial budgets and plans with the CEO

Experience Required:

• Demonstrated effective staff management and leadership including developing and maintaining great teams in similar environments

• Successful experience in achieving commercial outcomes from planning to profit and loss management

• Prior experience in defence, marine or maritime industry in preferred

• Relevant trades or engineering qualifications and experience demonstrating expertise to manage quality and be a source of credibility internally and with clients ideally within defence industry

• Satisfactory police and other necessary clearances including current drivers license

• Must have full working rights in Australia
