About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking experienced Open Pit Drill and Blast Engineers for a permanent, ongoing role residentially based within Kalgoorlie.

Reporting to the Open Pit Manager this role is responsible for carrying out detailed drill and blast design work, production scheduling and identifying opportunities to improve production outcome.

Responsibilities will Include:

• Generate effective drill pattern, tie-in and charge designs.

• Schedule? drill and blast activities to maintain production targets;

• Monitor and review data from drilling, explosive loading, and blasting to generate daily reports.

• Provide daily drilling and blasting proposals;

• Liaise with senior mine engineer on site and provide assistance for mine engineering activities;

• Develop weekly and monthly mine plan for drill and blast.

• Refinement of drill and blast pattern designs based on short/medium term plans.

• Ensure compliance with Norton policies, procedures and systems.

• Any other duties as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Relevant Bachelor qualifications in Mining Engineering (Mandatory)

• 3+ years experience in? ? drill and blast planning/scheduling and mine design.

• Practical approach to engineering and design problems.

• Have exceptional and professional communication skills.

• Current unencumbered C/HR Western Australian Drivers Licence (Mandatory)

• Senior First Aid (Desirable)

• Current Drivers Licence

• Right to work in Australia
