Operations Manager - Marine

About the Role:

Workpac are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Marine for our adventure tourism client based in Broome, WA.

Our Client is a leading tourism operator providing adventure day trips and luxury overnight tours within the Kimberley region. Due to an increase in business, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis. This role will be responsible for overall marine operations and deliver, including vessel maintenance for all marine assets, pontoon, vessels and fuel barge. Accommodation can be provided for this role and relocation assistance can be discussed.

Key Duties:

  • Implement and deliver plans for the marine operations of Horizontal Falls to achieve budget and priority targets including continuous improvement, P&L and cost management, guest experience and operational excellent.

  • Provide guidance and support to the Marine Department in delivering each of the pillars of the business plan

  • Provide strategic advise and recommendations for marine operations to the General Manager.

  • Direct and oversee financial performance of the Marine Department.

  • Build and lead a customer centric, service-oriented culture of continuous improvement

  • Lead, motivate, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure maximum performance and developmental growth.

  • Ensure fleet service, maintenance and repair programs continually improve the efficiency, reliability and presentation of the fleet

  • Assist with repairs, service and maintenance of the fleet

Experience Required:

  • Trade qualified as a Marine Engineer or Vessel Master

  • Prior experience in a management and logistics role with a hands on management approach - min 5 years

  • Prior management experience across marine or tourism sector with a strong technical background

  • Hold a passion for growth opportunities within a business

  • Have excellent people management skills with a passion for developing enthusiasm and encouragement in the workplace

  • Hold excellent health and safety values

  • Must hold full working rights in Australia. Open to candidates across Australia and New Zealand.
