Mine Services Operators

About the role
We are looking for experienced Operators to join our Mine Services team to support our sites by safely and successfully providing mine services support (drain maintenance, drain construction, pit road construction, civil road maintenance and other civil tasks as required) to our multiple sites. Mine Services team members are required to support both Weipa Northern and Southern mines which requires the flexibility to be able to move between both mine areas including staying in the Amrun village camp for periods of time to suit the work schedule.
This role is a great opportunity for an expert operator who has significant experience in civil roadworks and earthworks. We are looking for a self-starter, an innovator who enjoys coming up with new ideas and making positive changes. Every week will be different, so you will need to be flexible and adaptable but work within set time frames. Working a 4,5,5 dayshift roster and reporting to the Mine Services Supervisor, you will be:
Operating equipment on site associated with road works and earthworks, Eg: Cat CS Drum Roller, Cat 623 G Scrapers, Cat 16M/H Graders, Cat 777D Water cart, Cat 825C Compactor, backhoes, tippers, semi water carts and excavators
Ensuring all Mine Services activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner
Delivering operational excellence through continual improvement of work such as housekeeping, production efficiencies; quality; process and procedures
Contributing towards value creation and ideas for future process optimisation, waste identification as well as elimination and lower cost operation within the Mine Services team
Inspecting the site equipment and reporting on the maintenance requirements or breakdown issues
Demonstrating accountability over equipment as well as working safely and efficiently with other operators
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
A Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence / Heavy Combination (HC) Licence or ability to obtain,
A current RII competencies in some or all of the civil equipment
Experience in road building and maintenance
Previous operating experience on some or all of the following equipment; graders, HME watercart, semi watercart, scrapers, excavator, loader, moxy, dozer, backhoe and roller/compactors
A commitment to safety and a zero harm culture
