About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Process Control Systems Engineer to join our client for a permanent opportunity. The purpose of the Process Control Systems (PCS) Engineer is to support, maintain, modify, and improve all process control systems across the site infrastructure and process plant ensuring regulatory controls. You will have a minimum 15 years' industry experience with a broad range of componentry and demonstrated experience maintaining plant uptime.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement effective process control systems.

  • Optimise processes and apply quality control systems strategies that comply with industry specifications and regulations.

  • Maintain electrical instrumentation the communications control system VLAN, Radio Telemetry, UHF/VHF radios, Optic fibre.

  • Inspect and test machines, gauges, equipment, instrumentation, and control systems to diagnose faults.

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the Operation and Maintenance groups to troubleshoot and fix any systems issues.

  • Prepare weekly reporting metrics for plant downtime cause by PCS downtime.

  • Alarm rationalisation and masking. Generate monthly analytics for company reporting to improve automation systems.

  • Actively promote safety and demonstrate a personal commitment to safety.

  • Participate in CRAWS.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Technical Services department.

  • Seek ways to control costs within the department operating budgets.

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation is mandatory

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Current 'C' Class Western Australian Drivers Licence

  • Current WA Electrician License and or Cert IV Electrical

  • Advanced computer literacy and business software knowledge of VLANS, Citect, Rockwell PLC configuration software and Rockwell networking software platforms is mandatory

  • Minimum 15 years industry experience with a broad range of componentry

  • Subject Matter Expert in control system tuning of P&ID loops and complex logic

  • Ability to communicate? with a confident and compelling message to a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Comprehensive understanding of LV Electrical design and distribution

  • Working knowledge and understanding of AS 61508, AS 60079 and AS4024.

  • Applied knowledge of VLANS (N95), routers and radio communications

  • Construction induction white card, Working at Heights, HV Switching, Confined Spaces, High Risk Work Licence
