Procurement Specialist ( X 3 12 Month Contract Positions)

About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking a Procurement Specialist professional to join our leading ports client for a casual position for an immediate start. This role will be casual, for a 12 month casual duration (Secondment). This role will be based in West Perth and will be Monday to Friday (8 Hour Days.)

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialists accountabilities and functions include supporting the procurement process across all sites. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for undertaking the timely, cost effective and ethical procurement of goods and services across all sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, coordinate and undertake procurement proposals (EOI, RFP, RFQ, tenders) for major contracts.

  • Manage the evaluation of offers, including the development of evaluation methodology and criteria.

  • Administer the Tenders WA gateway.

  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to put in place procurement contracts for goods and services.

  • On contract finalisation, transition procurement contracts to the designated contract manager for each contract.

  • Provide support, advice and ensure that procurement policies and procedures are followed and assist in the ongoing improvement and development of them.

  • Representation and/or attendance as required at WA supplier forums.

  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and timelines.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to improve business performance.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role (Essential)

  • Practical hands on experience in negotiating, documenting, managing and closing out commercial agreements (Essential)

  • Track record of successful stakeholder relationship development and management (Essential)

  • Experience in analysis and due diligence of commercial proposals (Essential)

  • Experience within the shipping, transport and port operations sectors (Preferred)

  • Procurement process skills (Essential)

  • Proven negotiation skills (Essential)

  • Methodical and precise approach to handling commercial and contractual information (Essential)

  • Knowledge of and skills in using computerised spreadsheet applications (eg: Excel) and sound knowledge of and skills in use of word processing packages (eg: Word) (Essential)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner (Essential)

  • Good working knowledge of best practice in contract management systems and processes (Preferred)

  • Ability to gain a Maritime Security Identification Card and complete Police Checks as Required.

  • Current C Class Driver's Licence and own Transport.
