About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to be part of Rio Tinto's Rail Network Renewals Engineering Team. This role is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic team that is responsible for delivering Rio Tinto Rail Division's capital renewals program. The annual renewals program includes turnout renewals, level crossing renewals, plain line renewals, high output ballast cleaning, sleeper replacement and rail replacement. The successful candidate will work a 5/2, 4/3 roster for a 6-month duration, subject to extension.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Taking projects from design through to execution and closeout
Working with the project team and internal stakeholders to plan major track renewal works
Completing engineering activities in accordance with RTIO engineering standards and practices
Participating in design and constructability reviews
Supporting staging, planning and methodology development for track renewal works
Supporting the execution of renewal works within a multi-disciplined heavy haul rail environment
Supporting in the management of scope, time, and quality of the project
Governing the delivery of planned works in alignment with RTIO standards and procedures
Skills and Experience Required:
Tertiary qualification in either Mechanical or Civil Engineering/Construction or similar
Sound knowledge of engineering, construction and design
Experience in a large infrastructure environment
Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects
Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Project
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work in a team and prioritise tasks & common goals
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
A willingness to learn
