Project Engineer

  • Seeking a Junior and Senior Project Engineer

    About the Role:

    WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced a Junior Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer to join the Rio Tinto Team in Perth. These roles will work a Monday to Friday roster based at their Central Park Office.

    Rio Tinto operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700-kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilising the Sustaining Capital project procedures to assist Projects Lead to move the projects through the stages Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility, Implementation and Close Out.

  • Assist Projects Lead with Project Budgeting, Scheduling and Forecasting Cash flow to meet required business deadlines

  • Coordinating technical queries through the engineering service provider team

  • Assisting with preparing tender documents and reviewing tender submission

  • Reviewing construction plans and methodology

  • Reporting progress to multiple stakeholders

  • Tracking design and construction progress and maintaining the risk register

  • Assisting with procurement activities for long lead items and tracking supply of materials for construction activities

  • Provide support to project construction team at site

  • Flexible to travel to site for shorter and longer duration to support site activities

    About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering qualification

  • Project experience valued over 30M is desirable

  • Bulk Earthworks and Structural experience are very desirable

  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic process and piping system

  • Understanding of electrical equipment and control systems

  • Experience in managing design consultants

  • Ability to solve project issues and construction interfaces

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple contractors

  • Project Management, project planning, costing, and scheduling

  • On-site experience

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and be driven to achieve results

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence

  • Full Working Rights in Australia
