About the Role
Rio Tinto is seeking an experienced Project lead with knowledge of Civil works and Building Construction for an immediate start. The successful candidate will join Rio Tinto's Sustaining Capital Rail Mechanical & Civil department. This will be an on-going contract based in the Perth CBD with ad-hoc site visits as required
Duties:
- Manage all elements of all project elements (cost, quality, schedule) related to capital projects in accordance with the RT Sustaining Capital Portfolio Framework using standard tools, procedures and specifications.
- Provide leadership in the management of all aspects of health, safety, environment & community in relation to Rail capital projects.
- Manage Consultants; Engineering Service Providers and Contractors in the delivery of Rail projects ensuring project objectives are met.
- Engage and liaise with all stakeholders providing progress updates of engineering and constructions activities in accordance with the project schedule
- Develop and participate in improvement initiatives related to capital project delivery
- Oversee and manage project(s) from Order of Magnitude through to Close Out via our stage gate capital process in addition to sequencing and planning the pipeline of projects
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years managing Brownfield/Greenfield projects
- Understanding of Construction techniques and Building Codes
- Experience in Earthworks and Services reticulation
- Experience with the manufacturing and installation of Demountable Buildings favoured
- Highly developed communication skills
- Tertiary degree in relevant Engineering discipline or Project Management
- Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control industry practices
