Rail Systems Analyst

About The Role

WorkPac are currently seeking a Rail Systems Analyst to provide support for critical control systems across rail including the AutoHaul(TM), Train Control (Phoenix H), Asset Protection (HBD), Track Machine GPS Positioning, Electronic Train Graph, CCTV & Networks communications.

This role is a great opportunity to enable the team's service delivery, service support and improvement project execution around the Rail Control System.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and correct software and hardware problems affecting the operation of rail systems.

  • Troubleshoot complex network and application issues, responding to communication network faults and system alarms.

  • Carry out recovery actions to restore systems back to normal operation.

  • Manage critical system issues and liaise with relevant stakeholders to rectify problems.

  • Identify failures in the rail system and cooperate with the responsible staff to recover the system in an effective manner.

  • Provide support to the Train Controller for system queries or unexpected system events.

  • Support internal project teams with technical requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in EMS Services (Tibco EMS, Tibco Business Works, Active MQ, WS02).

  • Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant industry experience.

  • Red Hat Linux and Windows experience.

  • Ability to provide Application & Control Systems Support in fast paced and complex environments.

  • Proven skills in change, incident and demand management and ITIL methodology.

  • Software development and/or scripting experience (Bash, Bat, PowerShell, VBS, Python).

  • Data Analytics skills, familiar with Spotfire or PowerBI applications.

  • Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database queries.

  • Basic network experience.

  • Manual C class drivers licence.
