About the Role

WorkPac are seeking a Project Lead to join the high performing Closure Planning team within the RTIO Studies and Technology Department. The successful applicant will be responsible to provide advice to the business on mine closure planning.

You will participate in closure activities on various mining and closure studies and ensure development of client site closure plans to meet project and regulatory requirements. This will role will see you advising on closure aspects to be considered in mine planning, design and operation and support risk identification and management. Identify opportunities for progressive rehabilitation. To be successful in this position you will be someone who can get involved in improvement projects and develop long lasting working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in closure representation on various mining and closure studies.

• Ensure development of our site closure plans to meet project and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure closure aspects are considered in our mine planning, design and operation.

• Support risk identification and management.

• Identify opportunities for progressive rehabilitation.

• Be involved in improvement projects.

• Develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Skills and Experience

• Degree in Environmental / Biological Science, Engineering or relevant field

• Experience in preparing mine closure plans for mining operations

• Project management experience

• Experience in mining / rehabilitation / restoration

• ArcGIS skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Basic Vulcan skills
