About the Role:

WorkPac is currently seeking a Project Engineer based in Gladstone or Brisbane for an immediate start to lead a Tailings Dam Wall Raise project from engineering design through to execution.

This position would suit an accomplished safety leader, excellent communicator with a strong customer focus and experience leading projects through its lifecycle, from concept to close-out.

The position is preferably Gladstone based however FIFO from Brisbane can be considered for the right candidate.

To be successful within this position you will have Civil or Mechanical engineering qualification. You must be comfortable presenting and communicating and writing approval documentation, be an effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement experience. You will need project controls process knowledge to manage the project effectively and be able to manage different streams of work in parallel.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of the wall raise program, from early concept, engineering, construction to handover and closure, including approvals through the different approval gates.

• Support daily and long-term management of consultants and contractors through the different phases of the projects.

• Set and maintain project budgets and schedules to meet internal and external commitments.

• Create and maintain project documentation to meet QAL requirements.

• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary degree in engineering, project, or construction management

• Significant knowledge in upstream wall raise design development and execution.

• Extensive Civil & Earthworks project management experience.

• Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements.

• Demonstrated safety focus.

• Leadership and people management experience

• Effective written and communications skills.
