About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Engineer (Mechanical, Civil Structural or Electrical) for Rio Tinto's Sustaining Capital Projects. Perth based, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be leading Order of Magnitude (OOM) studies, working with established systems and processes. Responsible for the development of sustaining capital projects from Project Initiation through to Stage Gate 1.
Duties include:
Finalising the scoping and development of sustaining capital projects from idea phase through to Stage Gate 1.
Working closely with Operations, Business Analysts Project Control Services, Contracts & Procurement and Health & Safety to feed the pipeline of projects and realising the benefit to our operations.
Oversee the vendor allocation of project engineering resources, to deliver the OOM report.
A valued partner of our site operation and maintenance teams, you will build close partnerships with the internal and external stakeholders to deliver focussed solutions.
Seek capital efficiency throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Skills and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Project Management
Strong Project Management systems and processes
Experience in Concept, FEED and Studies
Experience in defining and implementing project improvement initiatives to maximise capital efficiency.
Working knowledge of mining and port operations
Strong decision-making capability along with ability to work autonomously.
Ability to lead, influence and motivate.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Proficient in SAP, Ms Project and Primavera (preferred)
WA C Class Drivers Licence
