Department Secretary

Rio Tinto operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking a Department Secretary to join Rio Tinto's Resource Development team. This role will be Perth based in the Central Park office, on a Monday-Friday roster, with no site travel required. This is a 6 month role with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities will include

  • Calendar management of three Resource Development Managers

  • Provision of administrative and secretarial services to the department and leadership team

  • Organising meetings, events, workshops & conferences including team days

  • Booking travel and preparing itineraries 

  • Working closely and effectively with our Resource Development Divisional and Department secretaries to ensure efficient and effective operation and communications within the division

  • Department communication and engagement activities and processes such as collating business presentations and preparation of correspondence, reports and agendas as required

  • Driving our Rewards and Recognition program

  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices for payment

  • Managing credit card expense reports

Skills & Experience Required

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • A genuine sense of care for team members

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to make a difference

  • Administration and calendar management experience with high attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to problem solve, prioritise, multi-task and have a flexible working approach

  • Advanced MS office skills

  • Experience in SAP
