Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Study Lead to join our client, Rio Tinto located in their Central Park office for a 12 month duration. This role will be working a Monday to Friday roster, 40 hours per week with ADHOC site travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan and coordinate a major study or multiple studies within the RTIO production chain

  • Leading a large project team in a matrix organisation structure

  • Identifying critical project issues and developing appropriate solutions

  • Identifying and managing project risks and mitigations

  • Managing the study schedule and budget

  • Developing the project business case in line with the business strategy

  • Identifying and managing key internal and external stakeholders

  • Producing the study report and presenting study outcomes

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environmental well-being, heritage, and community.

  • Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or another relevant field.

  • Highly experienced Study Leader capable of delivering complex work and/or managing several substantial pieces of work, experienced in providing coaching/guidance to others in study delivery

  • Demonstrated ability to understand the strategic drivers of a study.

  • High-level understanding of financial modelling and project evaluation.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce large, complex, cohesive reports

  • Demonstrated ability to produce and present concise, and clear information

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large budget and detailed schedule.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate clearly with various stakeholders.
