About The Role

Workpac are looking for motivated Supervisor Geologist for an initial 1 year maximum term contract, to support the delivery of Discovery projects across Australia to lead skilled teams in the safe and efficient delivery of field activities including MT, passive seismics, gravity, drilling, and earthworks activities.

As The Supervisor Geologist Discovery Operations You Will

• Role-model a safe, productive, sustainable, and disciplined approach to work.

• Effectively manage and successfully deliver projects in dynamic environments.

• Work closely with the Anglo American Geoscientists on the project to meet the legislative and field operations requirements.

• Supervise and contribute to geological data collection.

• Supervise and coordinate day to day operations including cultural, environmental, geophysical and drilling contractors.

• Conduct risk assessments and assist with incident investigations when required.

• Work with Senior Project Geologist and Project Geologist to ensure project goals are safely met and flag any deviations from plan.

• Field based QAQC of incoming geological data.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years mineral exploration experience required.

• Mining Supervisor G189 (previously S123) and G2 Risk Facilitator (for QLD roles).

• Drill rig supervision experience is required.

• Queensland Radiation use licence for pXRF preferred (for QLD roles).

Roster:

During the field season the roster will be 2 weeks on 1 week off. In the off-season will be Brisbane office (work from home depending on location) standard work week. Tasks while not on a project will include assisting with data capture and validation, assisting with SHEC and planning future field programs.
