About the Role

WorkPac are seeking a Surface Water Hydrologist to join a global leader in the mining sector as part of their Water Resources and Evaluation (WRE) team. The role will involve engineering project management for surface water resources and flood modelling.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to operations on surface water issues.

• Investigate surface water to establish hydrologic and hydraulic conditions.

• Develop strategic and tactical surface water management plans.

• Undertake flood risk assessments and support wet season management plans.

• Provide advice on surface water management issues to other business services.

• Assist to establish hydrological standards and guidelines.

Skills & Experience

• Proven flood modelling skills using RORB and TUFLOW software.

• Demonstrated experience in assessment of surface water flow and flood estimation.

• Engineering Degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources.

• Experience in surface water management and design of flood mitigation structures.

• Able to produce high quality reports and develop surface water management plans.

• Practical experience in the presentation of hydrologic assessments.
