In partnership with Rio Tinto, WorkPac has an exciting opportunity for experienced Mining and Civil Operators to join a fantastic project.

So, if you are a Dozer, Loader, Dump Truck or Grader Operator located within South East Queensland or Cairns region, take advantage of fully funded FIFO out of Cairns or Brisbane to join a highly dedicated project crew who will be carrying out development and civil/mining works.

ABOUT The Client/Region

Weipa operations in far north Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tonnes of bauxite.

Weipa is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years. Over the years, it has developed into a vibrant and diverse cultural hub of the Western Cape. Weipa offers a coastal community rich in geographical beauty and cultural heritage that provides families with opportunities to participate in leisure activities, sports and community events. With a strong sense of community, the region has plenty of natural beauty to offer including opportunities for boating, fishing, camping and exploring.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This project scope will encompass developmental works, environmental relevant civil and bulk works. As a team member you will be working a 7/7 rotating roster, however those who express interest can potentially undertake a 14/7 arrangement (site approval). These roles are ongoing until December (wet Season) and are available for residential and FIFO candidates. Camp and meals with leading facilities provided.

• Participating in toolboxes, team and safety meetings;

• Conducting routine inspections and tasks to ensure equipment is in operational condition;

• Working effectively with multiple teams to ensure production targets are met;

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To be successful in this role you will -

• Ability to either as a Single Skilled or Multi Skilled Operator - CAT 785 Rear Dump, Grader (CAT16M), CAT D11R/T Dozers and Front-End Loaders (993K)

• If you have strong skills in smaller but relevant Equipment, please apply to be considered

• Relevant RII or Skills List for the above machines

• Current C Class Manual Drivers Licence & Right to Work in Australia

• The ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test prior to commencement
