WHS Advisor

About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced WHS Advisor for a permanent opportunity located in Port Hedland. The WHS Advisor will assist in the implementation, compliance and management of the Town's Safety Management System while actively promoting a safe workplace culture. This position will also be responsible for providing WHS advice and support to multiple ToPH workplace sites, conduct inspections and audits, conduct safety investigations, provide functional administrative support and administration of workers compensation claims and injury management.

An attractive compensation package is offered, a $5k relocation assistance package is also available for the successful candidate, if residential to areas outside of Port Hedland. The client is also offering: Six weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading, an Additional 2 days of paid leave per year during the Christmas break, Free gym membership and pool access and Up to 14% superannuation with aco-contribution scheme.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and foster a proactive OH and Risk managed culture throughout the organisation

  • Implement projects, initiatives and programs which support the health and safety policy, procedures and WHS Plan

  • Implement, review and maintain programs with an emphasis on the provision of systems, support, advise and training for personnel

  • Provide safety leadership, advice, guidance, and support to the WHS trainee as well as internal and external stakeholders.

  • Promote WHS awareness, accountability, and responsibility across the organisation whist encouraging a culture of safety awareness and commitment to strong WHS practices.

  • Build effective relationships and consultation processes with internal and external stakeholders.
    Ensure effective proactive responses to incidents, investigations and risk assessment to a high standard and in conjuction with HR Business Partners.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant WHS regulations and standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Work, Health & Safety and or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience in a similar role

  • Workplace First Aid certificate

  • National Police Clearance

  • Current ???C??? class driver???s license

  • Rights to work in Australia
