Discipline Engineer - SMP Projects
About the Role
WorkPac|FMG are seeking experienced Project Engineers with a background in SMP and construction projects to join the Perth team on a 4 month contract.
The role will be based in Perth, managing an Iron Ore project, on a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off.
Duties & Responsibilities
Project Design
Participate in project Design Review including initial field inspection and meeting attendance Project Construction
Setup and run project Kickoff and Project to plan Meetings including issue of meeting minutes
Review and approve contractor project documents prior to start of works including: TBRA (HSE to approve), CMS, TCD, FIC/ITP and Site notices
Review contractor Workpacks for compliance
Review and approve project MTO requests
Review and provide response to project TQs (require sign off by Operations and PM) and maintain register
Complete site/field inspections of project work area focusing on safety and quality
Maintain project documentation in project folder located in F: drive and all project registers and currency of the Communication Matrix
Develop and maintain project S-curve for Department reporting and PPPC purposes and assist PM with contractor PPPC
Prepare and issue RFQ to the contractor under the correct delegation in the contract Project Commissioning
Review and approve project Commissioning Plan
Participate in project Tie-in, Dry and Wet Punchlisting
Complete site inspections during commissioning focusing on safety and quality Project Handover & Closeout
Review contractor handover documentation
Compile and issue Handover Certificate and supporting documentation
Review and approve project MDR General
Champion project safety and all QA/QC
Participate in weekly stakeholder/contractor Interaction Meetings and weekly contractor Progress to Plan Meeting
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Relevant qualification in Engineering across SMP and Construction projects
Demonstrated capacity to work across multiple projects
Mining project experience, specifically open pit preferred
Effective stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to adapt accordingly
Proven discipline in managing projects efficiently and on time
