The Opportunity

Our client is located in Melbourne's Northern suburbs that has been operating for over 50 years, specialising in steel pipe manufacturing. We are currently seeking an Adult Apprentice for a Certificate III in Engineering.

• 6.30am start

• $20.42 base rate + penalties + superannuation

• Duration 48 months Full-Time

• Qualification Description This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson - fabrication within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries. The qualification has been specifically developed to meet the needs of apprentices in the above trade.

• Units A total of 34 units of competency

The Role

• High attention to detail

• Safety orientated

• Able to understand written and spoken English

• Interpretation of technical drawing would be beneficial

• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines

• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering

• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments

• Fabricate, weld, and inspect products safely and efficiently to meet customer requirement

The Ideal Person

• Passionate about fabrication

• Drivers licence

• Commitment to a 4 year apprenticeship and ongoing employment

• Preferably experience in metal works

• Must have full working rights to work in Australia

• Two work references for previous roles

• Will have to undertake a weld test and pre-employment medical

Successful candidates will have to pass a weld test, drug and alcohol and full pre-employment medical
