About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join Rio Tinto???s Rail Engineering and Strategy team. This role is based in Perth, with ad-hoc travel to site for collaboration with the team and to oversee on-site progress. This role is available for an initial 9 month duration, on a Monday to Friday roster.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Review and update of Rail Engineering Civil and Track Standards and Procedures as a technical authority
Provide subject matter expert (SME) support to Rail Maintenance & Renewals teams, project teams and others
Review and suggest improvements to engineering designs from consultants
Contribute to whole-of-life plans for civil assets working alongside the asset management team
Advising on risks controlled by Competencies, Standards & Procedures, and checking of controls through Auditing
Leading governance and compliance to Rail Engineering standards and Procedures through reviews and audits
Coaching on civil engineering principles and practices to the wider Railways Division
Ensure the safety of our people is the top priority. Contribute to health, safety and environmental outcomes at rail, including safety-in-design considerations at study phases.

Skills and Experience Required:
Practical experience in the design, remediation or management of any of the following areas; Bridges and culverts, cuttings and embankments, Road design and/or remediation
Working knowledge of asset management principles
Understanding of project management principles
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Bachelor???s degree in civil engineering
C Class Drivers Licence
