About the Client
Our client is committed to developing high quality commercial vehicles that provide efficiency and productivity for all customers on a national level. Due to an increase in workload, they are now currently seeking an experienced Diesel Technician/Fitter to join their Brisbane workshop-based in Wacol.
What you will be doing
As a Diesel Technician you will be responsible for ensuring all vehicles brought into the Service Department are thoroughly inspected for potential faults and all required maintenance/repairs are conducted accordingly. If successful, you will be required to work Monday - Friday and you will be completing 8-9-hour shifts on dayshift.
Your core duties and Responsible
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tension bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure correct operation.
Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems.
Disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units.
What you will need
Relevant Certificate and/or Trade qualification
Drivers Licence with reliable transport
Previous experience in the truck and transport industries
Demonstrated Problem Solving ability
Great Manual Dexterity
Effective communication skills both verbal and written
Minimum three years' experience in a similar role
