About the Client:

Rio Tinto Operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Client Rio Tinto???s Facilities team to act as owners representative to initiate, scope, develop business case and design manage built form accommodation projects within Rio Tinto Iron Ore???s Facilities Portfolio. The successful candidate will work a Monday to Friday roster for an initial 12 month duration. This is a Perth based role with regular site travel to the Pilbara.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead built-form building construction projects through the project life cycle

  • Project scope development

  • Preparation of business cases

  • Development of cost plans, schedules, and budgets

  • Seeking internal funding approvals

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders

  • Management of third-party project management and delivery consultant teams

  • Acceptance of the project deliverable for operation by RTIO Facilities

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years applicable industry experience

  • Bachelor???s degree in engineering or construction management

  • Experienced inbuilt-form construction engineering or design management

  • Strong Project Management experience including management of design and building services consultants, development of cost plans, schedules, and budgets, and scoping and development of tender packages

  • Technical knowledge ability to review documentation

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Proficiency across MS Office Suite, MS Project and Power BI

  • C Class driver's licence
