About the Role
WorkPac is currently seeking a Assets Contractor Officer to join our clients team. This position willeffectively manage contractors engaged in a variety of parks maintenance works and projects throughout Logan City Council to achieve value for money and compliance. This role will also provide advice to key stakeholders to assist in improving the delivery of Council's services contracts and maintenance operations, whilst working within Council's procurement policies, procedures, and legislative obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain systems and processes relating to contract administration responsibilities, while being guided by Councils procurement policies and procedures
Develop Contract Management Plans to enable a clear and standardised approach for managing and administering all park maintenance contracts
Establish priorities and monitor outcomes to achieve branch goals
Use advanced communication and interpersonal skills to positively influence and negotiate great outcomes for the City of Logan with internal and external stakeholders
Manage expectations of the community, Councillors and stakeholders regarding contractor work, by providing relevant information and negotiating potential options
Undertake periodic observational and formal safety audits of contractor crews, depot facilities, plant, equipment and vehicles and address, document and resolve any issues of non-compliance in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011/Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011
Ensure proficient knowledge of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices - 2010 and the Queensland Traffic Act (and any amendments thereof for these two documents) to inform appropriate escalation of breaches identified of this nature resulting from audits
Assist in the development and review of contract tender documentation to continually improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of park contract maintenance services
Skills & Experience Required:
Australian C Class Drivers Licence
Available for an immediate start.
Possession of a current 30215 Qld General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) ticket is mandator.
Applicants must undergo a functional assessment and be assessed as being able to meet the functional requirements of the position before an offer of employment is made.
Diploma qualifications in a related discipline and/or experience in a similar role
High level knowledge and understanding of Workplace, Health and Safety legislation and requirements
Sound understanding of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices - 2010 and the Queensland Traffic Act (and any amendments thereof for these two documents). Level 2 traffic management qualifications or higher is advantageous
