About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join our client in Dampier. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Health & Safety team in the development, operation and promotion of the health and safety functions for the client.

Responsibilities will include:

• Support the operation of the work health and safety management system to ensure company compliance with the Western Australian Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and other applicable requirements.

• Support in developing annual plans and work schedules.

• Assist with occupational hygiene processes.

• Support the development, implementation and regular review of policies, procedures and processes.

• Conduct inspections and audits to assess compliance in the field, produce associated reports, and address corrective actions and opportunities.

• Report hazards and incidents in the incident and hazard management system.

• Assist with risk assessments for work activities.

• Assist with projects associated with work health and safety improvements.

• Assist with the development of programs that promote education and awareness of work health and safety obligations for workers.

• Deliver internal health and safety competence and awareness training.

• Actively promote health and safety to workers to foster a strong culture.

• Facilitate and contribute to meetings and committees.

Skills and Experience

• Obtained Health and Safety qualification or similar

• Experience working in a Health and Safety support role

• Attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills and report writing skills

• Understanding and ability to operationalise legislation, standards and procedures

• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and Maritime Security Identification Card

• Valid WA Drivers Licence
