About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Heritage Liaison Advisor to facilitate and ensure the safe conduct of Rio Tinto Iron Oreâs cultural heritage survey program. This position would hold a 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth or residential options are available for a 16 month duration. This role is a great opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about working with Traditional Owners, enjoys working in the field, has solid leadership and stakeholder management skills and is able to bring all the pieces of the project together.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Contractor management for Rio Tinto's heritage team survey program.
Developing and maintaining favourable relationships with internal and external stakeholders through strong engagement and communication
Delivering in-field survey works
Preparing, managing, and implementing initial response plans and journey management plans.
Supervise heritage field survey teams (contractors & traditional owners) in line with RT safety systems and processes
Maintaining cultural heritage fieldwork equipment, assets, and fleet
Supporting social surrounds, archaeological, ethnographic, botanical, and other environmental survey works with Traditional Owner group involvement.
Undertaking critical risk management as a team leader.
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience working in a leadership/supervisory role with good field knowledge
Field work experience required
Prior mining industry experience beneficial
Passionate about working with Traditional Owners
Interests in Indigenous Australian Culture
Experience bringing stakeholders together to deliver on projects
Capable to travel (up to 10 days at a time), work in the field, in the heat and undertake physically demanding tasks.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment beneficial
Class - C Drivers Licence required.
Senior First Aid Certificate beneficial
4WD accreditation and GIS/Navigation skills beneficial
