Laboratory Technician

WorkPac is currently seeking a experienced laboratory Technician locally based in Townsville. The successful applicant will be required to work Mon-Fri working 50 hour week.

What you will be doing

• - Support with development, implementation and maintenance of the laboratory quality management system;

• - Assist with the development and maintenance of test procedures;

• - Maintain analysis logbooks and equip logbooks;

• - Complete and store all required documentation correctly;

• - Assist with work in other areas of the laboratory;

• - Analyse and report assigned samples;

• - Record analysis data in the analysis logbook and report the results in the Lab Info Management system (LIMS).

• - Ensure all analytical results generated personally are reported correctly;

• - Ensure that all analytical results generated personally are checked and confirmed if they differ from the expected value or trend.

• - Analyse and report unscheduled samples according to instructions;

• - Assist chemist to review and investigate the cause of fault or breakdown of equipment and develop a report when the instrument and facilities are out of order, or serviced.

What you will need

• - Experience in the appropriate technical discipline.

• - Previous experience in a laboratory.

• - Good knowledge of standard techniques to analyse samples.

• - Sound knowledge of analytical test procedures.

• - Drivers licence
