About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Grader operator with Supervisory experience for a role in Norseman. You will be required to stay in Norseman for the duration of the role. Residents of Norseman are encouraged to apply, If you will be relocating Accommodation can be arranged, the role will initially be for 2 months but may lead into ongoing work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Operate and maintain the Shire grader for maintenance and construction works;

• Work with and supervise the day to day operation of Council???s road construction plant operators;

• Ensure that safe work practices are adhered to;

• Ensure accepted work standards are maintained;

• Assist in arranging materials and plant as required for Works Programs and operations;

• Monitor the preparation of employee time sheets and verify attendance and time allocations;

• Liaise with public utilities, authorities and contractors for the co-ordination of works and the protection of services;

• Assist in the coordination and supervision of contractors and works contracts;

• Ensure that all accidents, workers compensation issues and other incidents are reported and documented;

• Supervise any mechanical works to ensure the maintenance of Council???s plant and equipment is in good working order; work with Manager of Works on Maintenance schedules of all plant.

• Any other duties consistent with the level of this position and as directed by the Manager of Works.

Skills and Experience:

• Hold a current WA HC class driver???s license;

• Sound knowledge of Articulated Grader in the operation and maintenance with, 3-5 years??? experience;

• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills;

• Sound knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health requirements;

• Ability to work away from home for extended periods.

• Operation of Steel Drum Rollers & Multi Tyred Roller

• Demonstrated ability to work within a multicultural work force.

• Working knowledge of Local Government law in respect of works in streets;

• Hold a Supervisors Certificate (or equivalent experience);

• Grader Operation ticket
