Manager Parks, Waste & Natural Environment

About the Role:

To ensure that all area are presented to the highest standards meeting the expectations of Council and the community by managing the service delivery of parks & gardens, reserves, natural environment, and waste management in a professional, safe, and efficient manner in accordance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.


Key Responsibilities:

Maintain working relationships with Councillors, Executive Management Team, and all staff to foster positive workplace culture.

Support the wider organisation through positive team participation and by assisting in other areas when required to assist with workload, provide backup, or advice in area of expertise.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of Parks, Waste and Natural Environment by assisting in the ongoing review and updating of information including policies, procedures, information sheets and processes.

Any other tasks determined as appropriate to the position.

Key Requirements:

Essential

Well-developed leadership and managerial skills

Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Horticulture, Waste Management, or relevant equivalent experience

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy, legislation and regulation relating to Waste Management

Experience in project management

Demonstrated experience in construction, maintenance and/or management of public open space, horticulture, natural environment and/or waste collection and facilities

Sound knowledge and experience in relevant Workplace Health & Safety Regulations

Strong oral and written communication skills including report writing experience

Current C Class Driver???s Licence

Construction Safety Awareness card (White Card)

Desirable

Experience in local government or other multidisciplinary regulatory environments

Relevant knowledge/experience in compliance with relevant legislation, local laws, policies, and standards relating to the role
