Mechanical Fitter -Fixed Plant and Mining Equipment

• $64 p/h flat rate + allowances + loading

• Located in Beresfield, NSW

• Workshop and mine site work

• Ongoing role with opportunity to go permanent.

• 4-day week (10-12 hour days)

About the Role

WorkPac are seeking skilled Mechanical Fitters to join our clients team, focusing on fixed plant and mining equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the maintenance, repair, and optimization of machinery critical to the mining process.

What you will be doing:

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on fixed plant and mining equipment according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.

• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.

• Perform inspections and conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

• Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

• Document work activities, including maintenance procedures, equipment condition, and repairs completed, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other relevant tools.

What you need:

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining) or equivalent qualification.

• Drivers Licence

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector.

• Confined Space

• Working at Heights

• MDG25 (desirable, not essential)

• Order 43 Medical and any mine site inductions are a bonus.
