  About the Role:

  WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Rio Tinto team at Cape Lambert. The role will be 12 months, ongoing and working on the CLAHDO project, initially the role will be Perth based and then transition to FIFO during 2024.

Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

  Duties and Responsibilities:

  Rio Tinto Operates a Dual Port facility at Cape Lambert, exporting approximately 215Mtpa of Saleable Ore Product (CLA ~90/CLB125).

  CLA is undergoing a significant brownfield upgrade (~A$700m) to cater for a new product (higher density/moisture), which involves:

• New rotable transfer chutes

• Upgraded & new conveyor drives

• New substation/switch rooms

• Greenfield - New automatic as-shipped sampling facility

• Balanced machine modifications (ship loaders, stackers, reclaimers)

  Skills & Experience Required:

• Tertiary qualification in either Mechanical or Civil Engineering/Structural or similar

• Sound knowledge of engineering, construction and design

• Experience in a large infrastructure environment

• Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects

• Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Project

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to work in a team and prioritise tasks & common goals

• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders

• A willingness to learn

• Current C Class Australian Licence

• Full Working Rights in Australia
