Rio Tinto Operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking Project Advisor to join our client Rio Tinto in their Sustaining Capital team. This role will be working a FIFO 8:6 roster to Paraburdoo for a 12 month opportunity. The Project Advisor will provide site support and updates to project leads to ensure project safety, schedule and quality are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold RTIO Values-Care, Courage, Curiosity

  • Provide site support and updates to Project Leads to ensure Project safety, schedule and quality are met

  • Coach and mentor, our contracting partners in RTIO systems and process

  • Organise site project works and liaise with area owners and stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with the RTIO Contractor Management System (CMS)

  • Conduct regular reviews of project documentation

  • Ensure all incidents are investigated and that all actions are implemented accordingly

  • Undertake quality Leadership in the Field interactions

  • Assess and report on project deliverables

  • Collaborate with Project Leads through all phases of the project lifecycle

Skills and Experience

  • Strong people skills, with the ability to work with Contractors

  • Effective communicator and influencer

  • Good understanding of Project Management principles

  • Able to work effectively in changing environments

  • Conflict resolution

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships

  • Demonstrate a reasonable understanding of P6 and Microsoft project schedules

  • Problem solve complex situations

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Project management with experience in delivery Demonstrate a level of competency Microsoft office skills notably in Word and Excel

  • Adhere to the core RTIO values

  • Demonstrate Everyday respect

  • Be a strong communicator

  • Worked within a multi-disciplinary and diverse team

  • Mechanical trade experience

  • Have experience in the expectations of what is required for Project delivery

  • Have a sound understanding of Health, Safety and/or Environment

  • Coach, mentor or supervised a team
