About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our client for a 3 month duration. Reporting to the Project Manager, the right will work with the contractor in the delivery of a bulk earthworks project at site. This role will be offering a FIFO or DIDO 5:2 4:3 day shift roster.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure contractors implement the requirements of the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and the commitments of the project/contract health and safety management plan

• Monitor contractor compliance and instruct rectification when required

• Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders across the mine site.

• Review RFIs/ TQ with contractor and work with designer

• Demonstrate safety leadership through the field leadership processes and record outcomes.

• Manage contract scope to deliver within agreed contract value and support provide to Project Manager as required

• Manage contractor (including interfaces) and contract scope to deliver within schedule

• Manage contractor schedule outcomes based on actual performance, progress drivers and resourcing.

• Detailed and robust reporting on Contractor actuals and forecast (safety, quality, risk and compliance, cost and schedule).

• Participate/ Lead/ Conduct investigations of safety and environmental incidents

Skills and Experience

• Have the ability to work in a QLD Coal Mine

• QLD Coal Supervisor course (S1, S2, S3)

• Hold a current Open Drivers Licence

• A high level of written and verbal communication

• Proficient in utilising MS office software

• Previous experience in rehabilitation

• Background in Civil and Mining including knowledge of bulk earthworks
