ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Peak Downs Coal Mine BMA Circuit - BMA is Australia's largest producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal and is owned 50:50 by BHP and Mitsubishi Development. BMA operates seven Bowen Basin mines (Goonyella Riverside, Broadmeadow, Daunia, Peak Downs, Saraji, Blackwater and Caval Ridge) and owns and operates the Hay Point Coal Terminal near Mackay.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Perform Loading and firing of blast holes while monitoring compliance with site procedures, environmental and government regulations

• Reporting to the Supervisor, Drill and Blast, this role will see you fundamentally contributing to the success of the blasting team on site working on a Wednesday to Tuesday roster

• Conduct explosives magazine stock-takes

• Community and Environmental compliance objectives adhered to

• Monitoring the mining environment, check post/drilling/blast areas to make sure safety regulations are met

• Following all blast management plans and manage MMU time on bench performance.

• Transport and Delivery of dangerous goods is safely conducted

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Experience in Shot Firing operations using electronic initiation systems

• Explosives Security Clearance (SSAN)

• Experience in stock management and bulk material loading

• Collaborative communication skills

• Self-driven and able to work autonomously in the field

• Hold or be willing to attain a Standard 11

• Current Driver's License & Right to Work in Australia
