About The Role

WorkPac are currently seeking a Machine Guidance Officer to support a small fleet of earthmoving machinery in a GIS and data management function, utilising machine guidance systems.

The successful candidate will have a background in GIS, preferably in a mining or exploration environment but not essential. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, who is meticulous and able to produce consistent and accurate outputs.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a dynamic team and start or continue their career in mining exploration, working alongside the lead Machine Guidance Officer. We are looking for the suitable match who, in addition to having experience in GIS, has an progressive and ambitious approach to their career and an interest in emerging technologies and applying knowledge to improve operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Compile spatial data sets and complete relevant checks for earthworks activities (maps for machine guidance system).

• Prepare QA/QC Ground Disturbance records from field team, copy or publish in appropriate network storage and maintain consolidated dataset formatted for reporting.

• Cross check Ground Disturbance records against secondary datasets (machine logs), cross check actual ground disturbance against permits (project close out).

• Provide GIS and general support to field teams, producing and modifying maps on request for the field.

• Undertake peripheral administrative functions as required.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated proficiency with ArcMap or similar GIS software package.

• Exposure to related Esri ArcGIS products.

• Understanding of cartographic principals such as coordinate systems.

• Must be a âproblem solving❠oriented individual.

• Good technical aptitude.

• Able to work in a small dynamic team environment.

• MS Office proficient.
