Technical Writer/Officer

Rio Tinto operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance

About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking aTechnical Writer to join the team at Rio Tinto based in Perth. The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday in the Perth CBD with ad-hoc site travel.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Able to travel to site as required to gather information, observe technical documents in use for real-time feedback, pro-actively engage end users for review.

  • Produce technical documents that are easy to understand using a combination of written and graphical means. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Standard/Safe work procedures (SWPs); Quick reference guides (QRGs); Bill of Materials catalogues (BOMs)

  • Follow Rio Tinto Information Management System document control process, and technical writing guidelines & templates.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in document writing, you don't need to be an experienced technical writer

  • Prior experience in a frontline operational role (trade or trade assistant/operator) in the mining industry, preferably in the area of fixed plant processing

  • Software: Microsoft office -excel, word and outlook, teams and SharePoint

  • Current C class drivers licence
