About the Opportunity:

In partnership with our leading Mining & Resource Client, WorkPac is seeking expressions of interest for veterans /ex-service personnel looking to commence a career within Mining as a New to Industry Operator. WorkPac recognises the transferrable skills and knowledge that ex-defence force personnel hold, and seek to provide opportunities for those in a new and rewarding role.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant equipment, consisting of CAT 785, 789, Hitachi 4500, 5000 and Komatsu 930 Dump Truck

• Work Lifestyle Roster (4/5, 5/4, 5/5) Including PJ Day

• 12.5 Hour Shifts

• Maintain equipment.

• Operate equipment safely.

• Follow company policies and procedures.

Successful applicants will possess the following:

• Previous experience within the Defence Force with any experience within construction, logistics, machinery operation or civil works highly regarded.

• Commitment to safe work behaviours and adherence to site safety procedures

• A valid Australian Driver Licence

• Ability to contribute and work positively in a team environment.

• Basic computer and numeracy skills

The following qualities will also be highly regarded but not essential:

• Previous machine operating experience

• Previous experience working shifts/rosters.

• Current Standard 11

• Current Coal Board Medical

• Other Coal Industry Qualifications
